SDIP-12-124 Gigabit PoE adapter reducing voltage to 12V
Description
SDIP-12-124 is a gigabit PoE adapter with a voltage-reducing converter. The device allows us to power additional devices with a nominal voltage of 12V via PoE 802.3af using a single UTP cable.
The device transmits PoE voltage (35...56V), enabling simultaneous supply of power to a PoE device and an additional device powered from 12V, e.g. a camera with an additional IR illuminator or a door station with an electric door opener.
This makes it possible to provide power supply voltage in places where it is not possible to supply another power source.
SDIP-12-124 is a PoE splitter fully compatible with PoE switches operating in accordance with the 802.3af standard. At the RJ45 output, the device features PoE Passive power supply.

Signalling of the operating status is realised via LEDs:
- LED in RJ45 connectors - PoE power supply on ports
- LED DC - information about the 12V voltage on the DC connector
Total power budget of the PoE port and DC plug output of the SDIP-12-124 is 12W. A higher-power SDIP-20-AD0 (20W) adapter is also available to fulfil the same function for higher demand.
The device has a protection level of IP20, a suitable enclosure (minimum IP44) is required to ensure protection from the elements and condensation.
The device has a very small size, which allows it to be easily integrated into small enclosures.
The adapter has a polycarbonate base to protect the electronics from mechanical damage.
Installation notes
- the total power of the converter is 12W, which is used for the 12 V supply and the PoE supply.
- SDIP-12-124 is a new version of the ASDC-12-124-HS adapter and can be used interchangeably in its place.
